Hello Everyone,
I have just received my Great Grandfather's service record (thank you for your help)
On it it says, wounded in action G.S.W right Buttock 09/04/1915,
Could anybody please tell me where the 1st Manchester Regiment was on this date.
Thank you once again for all the information I received.

Hi everyone,
I have this picture from my Great Grand fathers service record. My question is if it says he arrived in Marseilles on
26-09-1914 and then wounded in the field on 09-04-1915 would he have been with the battalion even though it doesn't say in the field earlier in the record?(hope the question makes sense).

Thanks heaps Brad

Brad

Hi again,
I have another question could anyone please tell me what the "D" means in this part of his record.
Thanks
Brad

its depot brad.
when a soldier is invalided home to hospital, hes posted to the depot, when he leaves hospital,he has to report regularly to the depot, until hes fit, then hes usually granted 10 days leave and then returned to his own battalion,or posted to another battalion.
