I am searching for a Horace littler for a friend. He was his grandfather and says he fought in the Boer War. No Regt. No etc. except his bible which mentions  (a)  Mounted Infantry Hill 14th. November 1899
              (b)  Wagon Hill 6th. January 1900 Ceasars Camp 36 killed, 50 injured Manchester Regt.

He was born C.1875 Wincham/Northwich to Edward and Martha Littler

Did your friend's grandfather survive the war?  The only soldier of that name I can find is 6909 Private C Littler of the 5th Militia Battalion who died in South Africa of disease.
