Hi

I am trying to find as much information as possible on Pte Charles Henry Selby. He was born in Ardwick, Manchester 29th Jan 1886, Mother Sarah Ann Birchall, and married Ethel Bailey on 24 Feb 1907, fathered 6 children and joined the 17th Bn Manchesters 1914-15. He died on 22 Mar 1918 and is buried at Savy shown in the link below:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=18355768

Unfortunately I have no pictures of him or do not know where his medals or death plaque is.

Any information is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

charles was killed at or close to Manchester Hill, if you do a search on this, either on the forum or the web, you will get a lot of information

he would have been with the 17th battalion then

you can get a copy of the Manchester City Battalions CD from the Manchester and Lancashire Family History Society ( it not too expensive) a copy of the original book is expensive though!
