Hello Everybody.

My name is Richard and I have been collecting medals to the Manchester and Cheshire Regments for about 9 years now. My main interest is in soldiers from the Macclesfield area of Cheshire and the 1/7th Cheshires, but I have been interested in the Manchesters ever since visiting the church in the village where my fathers family farmed for centuries - Siddington, Nr Macclesfield - and seeing the Elstob VC Memorial there.

I am looking forward to browsing the discussions on here and I will contribute wherever possible.

Many thanks for reading.

Regards

Richard

A most hearty welcome to the forum! You never know what, or who, you may find lurking around here!

Any contributions will be greatly appreciated, and I promise we won't bite.... much...

Thanks for the welcome chaps.

Tony - I'm sorry, I haven't seen any medals named to William Rodaway but I will keep an eye out for you. The Manchester medals I have are mainly 2nd Bn 1914 Star Trios, Territorial Gallipoli casualties, and Pals Trio and plaques. I will look through the site later today and see if I have got anything of interest to anybody.

Thanks Again

Richard

Richard,

I will certainly be interested in the details of any 16th Battalion chaps you may have medals for.

Cheers,

Dave

Dave.

The 16th Battalion is the only Pals battalion that seems to have eluded me. I would love to find a trio to them due to the connection with Elstob. If anything turns up I'll let you know.

Cheers

Richard

Richard,

Thanks mate! I am lucky to be the proud owner of my Great Grandfathers medals, including a WWI trio. He was with the 16th Battalion as the QM... hence the connection and interest.

Cheers,

Dave
