Hello. I'm hoping someone here will be able to help. I'm trying to find out any information regarding my grandfather, who died in the late 80's. Like many veterans he didn't enjoy talking about his service, and kept much of the information to himself, i will be having contact with my uncle who i believe has the regimental information. So all i'm doing is putting out feelers. He served in Burma as a driver on the machine gun mounted bedfords (this information may not be fully accurate so please excuse me any mistakes). The only thing i know about his time there was he slept under the vehicles so not to get wet when it rained. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thankyou.

Hi Gambit

I'm sorry no one has been able to help you

do you know for definite your grandfather was in the Manchester Regiment? I think the best way forward would be to apply for his records at the MOD

this link will tell you how to do it
