Captain JB Macgregor MC - RAMC - 22nd Manchesters
« on: September 22, 2011, 02:39:52 PM »
Captain Macgregor was the original medical officer of the battalion.  He was wounded whilst serving with the battalion at Bertrancourt in January 1917, already having been awarded the MC.

Can anyone trace the citation for the MC?

Robert,

I cant find him in the London Gazette.

Also not shown in the December 1918 Army List with the 22nd.

There were an awful lot of MacGregor/McGregor's in the British Army!

regards

Robert,

Thanks to Mack providing the correct initials I can now provide his citation:

"For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty.  He tended and dressed the wounded under very heavy fire with great courage and determination.  He has on many previous occasions done very fine work".

London Gazette issue 29832 of 24th November 1916 page 12
