27th may 1940

members of the 2nd norfolks defending a farmhouse at le paradise against SS troops were compelled to surrender after exhausting all their ammunition,they were marched across the road by a unit of the SS totenkopt division where they were lined up and machine gunned,those still alive were either bayonetted or clubbed to death with rifle butts,amongst these men were two soldiers of the 2nd manchesters
