the battalion history gives another possibility for the Dilwara Hired Transport

Gibraltar was a military base, it needed to be garrisoned at all times, however the regiment was organising for an expedition in India there was a transfer of men who were close to completion of their service going out and new entrants into the regiment going out

So are we saying the Dilwara may have been specifically hired to transport Manch ?
