The Big Man

Hi all,

Please could somebody tell me what brigades and divisions the 1st, 2nd, 8th & 9th battalions served with during WWII, or where I could find this information for myself?

Many thanks in advance.

Robert Bonner

For the 1st & 2nd Battalions you should read Bell's History of The Manchester Regiment Regular Battalions 1922 - 1948.    For the 9th Battalion read Volunteer Infantry of Ashton-under-Lyne. For the 8th you should read Ardwick Boys went to Malta; after Malta they served in Italy with 10th Indian Division.
