Hi Damian and a Warm Welcome to our Forum  ;D

You would be able to obtain his service record from the veterans agency for a fee of £30, as you are next of kin, although you will need a copy of his death certificate.

The details of how to can be found here http://www.veterans-uk.info/service_records/army.html

Hi Wendi!
I did know that. My Mother is next of kin. I went to Ashton-u-Lyne library a couple of weeks ago for the 'open day'. I met the Officer, writer of the book on Kohima(sorry, forget his name at the mo, although I do have the book at home). I was looking for any comrades, or relatives of, that may know something.
Cheers!

That would have been a member of our Forum: Capt. Robert Bonner Rtd.  I was not able to attend the open day but gather it was well worth the visit!

Much luck with your research

Ta Wendi. Nice bloke. We had a good talk about Kohima and Admin Box. I'm a miltary historian by the way.

More a livelihood than a hobby then  ;D  Do you specialize in a certain field ?
