Hi forum members
this is my first post, so I hope I am in the correct part of the forum,
I have obtained my husbands grandfathers pension record.
he was with the Manchester's in WW1
he was with the 3rd then the 18th then the 17th and on the 12 oct 1916 he is recorded as wounded,
can anyone explain the listing chest 999 wounded, obviously I understand the chest part but what does the 999 mean, this fits in with a memory from his daughter that he was wounded in the shoulder, she thought twice.
kind regards
margaret
