Hi all...Am new to this so please bear with me.My father died in 1995 and spoke very little about his Army career,so i thought this site would be a good place to start.
He joined the Manchester Regiment,at Ashton i think,in 1939 and finished up in the Military Police in Burma as part of the 11th East African Division. He had a rank of WO1(RSM) and was mentioned in Despatches in the London Gazette on Sept.19th 1946.Other than that i know nothing!!.
I would be grateful for any help or information.

Also, is it possible to obtain replacement medals?.His were lost in a house move.
My dad,s name was Peter McCormick Seddon.Army Number 3535739.D.O.B WAS Dec 3rd 1914.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi his service and replacement medals can be obtained from this site. You will have to pay for his medals but if your mother is still alive, she should be able to get his service records for free. If not you will have to pay £30. Check out the web site below.

Hi SEDDS and welcome to our forum  ;D

You may not get too many replies to your enquiry, but that is not for want of enthusiasm by the members of this forum, it's simply because WW2 records are not in the public domain and Migky has given you the best of advise we can offer.

And we do hope it helps !
