Fred Cooke, enlisted 04/12/1914 as Pte 14580 Manchester Regt, later A/L/Cpl 71439 Royal Defence Corps. Served in France 08/11/1915 to 30/03/1916, transfer to Class Z Reserve on 28/03/1919. Emphysema attributable to service. Married to Sarah Jane Stanyers at Oldham on 30/08/1902, and lived at 16 Mulliner Street, Oldham. Died from dropsy on 15/03/1920, age 41. Buried at Chadderton Cemetery, plot NC.107.
