Pte 3829/201293 Thomas Bispham

Tim Bell

Pte Bispham served with 1/5th Bttn and disembarked Gallipoli 28/10/1915.  He was disembodied no SWB on 27/1/1919.
Thomas died from Pneumonia on 23/11/1919.
Widow Margaret, 79 Lime St, off Greenough St, Wigan. Pension refused.
age 45

PaulC has found that Thomas Bispham public grave is in an area of long grass at Wigan Cemetery and probably has no headstone.  There is a row of @ 10 CWGC Special Memorials behing the public plot "Buried near this spot".  If these men have identified plots with Special Memorials nearby, I think it's probably best for Thomas to have the same if we gain the evidence for commemoration.

i doubt wether thomas will be eligible,he died of a short term sickness 10 months after demob,its a shame because he needs a headstone

Thomas Bispham is recorded in the Grave Registration Reports for Wigan Cemetery, struck out with the note "not a war grave". See documents for the following casualty;
