Pte William Ralphson 3361, 43886 Manchester Regt. Enlisted 26/01/1915, served in France from 26/07/1916 to 06/11/1916, and from 25/07/1917 to 08/04/1918. Transferred to 368144 Labour Corps. Discharged 27/09/1918 to Class P(T) Army Reserve. Debility attributed to service, France 1916, note in medical reports says man "states shell shock [but] no presents signs or symptoms". Died on 02/02/1919 from influenza and buried at Wigan Cemetery, plot CE.M.31, an unmarked public grave. Widow was Margaret Ralphson, of 7 Sayers Yard, Scholes, Wigan.
