Hello - I am researching the military service of my friend's grandfather and i would be grateful for the forum's guidance please

We know John's service number from family artefacts. John was born on 19th Nov 1891 in Oldham and lived in Barlow Street. I have found medal rolls but not his pension ledger or service record. I also found a war diary for the 1/10th on the National Archive.

I am trying to find those two documents but also ask if John #3074 became #376000 when the regiment was re-indexed. #376000 was a Acting Colour Sergeant; #3074 was a Sergeant. I do not have any record linking the two service numbers

Your help and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Please advise if you want to see any record I have so far

Thank you

Timberman

 Hello TonyT001

Welcome to the forum

I personally can't help you, hopefully someone will be able to help.

If you have access to the Ancestry records and see his Medal index card, it will give you
any numbers he had. The medal rolls will also give any numbers he had. The service records
if they survived the WW2 bombing will be on Ancestry.
Good luck with your research.
