Pte 2298 Herbert Bridge 7th Bn

Herbert Bridge had been a warehouseman, with 4 yrs prior service in 8th Bn, when he enlisted in 7th Bn on 31/08/1914.  He embarked for Egypt on 10/09/1914 and served there until he was evacuated home on 07/02/1915.  He was discharged sick on 17/03/1915 and received a pension for VDH.
Herbert died from a fractured skull, received after discharge, on 11/01/1918,aged 26.  Southern Cem, E.513.  Husband of Florence Bridge of 279 Morton St, W Gorton.  Married after discharge.  Son of Margaret Bridge of 14 Leviot Street, Longsight.
Death is unrelated to service.
