Pte 38515 Walter William Whiting

Walter Whiting had been a clerk when he attested under the Derby Scheme on 10/12/1915.  He was mobilised for duty at the Depot, Ashton on 25/08/1916. Walter was transferred to the Labour Corps on 30/06/1917. He was posted back to the Manchesters on 19/03/1918 and transferred to the ASC 'S/440167' on 28/09/1918.  Walter was demobilised with renal calculus on 08/03/1919.  He made no pension claim.
Walter Whiting died from appendicitis and kidney stone on 06/02/1920.  He was buried at St Luke's Cheetham. The husband of Emily Whiting of 28 Victoria Road, Urmston.   She received no pension as "Disease contracted after discharge."  Walter had been discharged with renal calculus (kidney stones) which noted as part of the cause of death.  We cannot prove this was commencing/agg/attrib to service.
