Sidney (served as) Dawes has been a labourer when he enlisted in 13th Bn at Royton on 22/09/1914.  He was posted to 14th Bn on 04/09/1915 and discharged unfit on 15/06/1916.  The pension was refused for VDH which had commenced in 1908 and was not a result of or aggravated by service.  Other cases reviewed by DGAMS in 1917 would probably have overturned this decision.
Sidney Dawes died, aged 24 and was buried at St Matthew's Chadderton on 18/10/1919. The son of Charlotte and the late William Samuel Dawes of 66 Barker Street, Oldham.
