Pte 4175 Granville Hatherill
Granville Hatherill embodied in 10th Bn at Oldham on 25/10/1915. Granville disembarked in France with 2/10th Bn on 31/07/1916.  He was transferred to 1st Bn KLR on 14/09/1916 '5261' after a period of sickness with myalgia. Granville was transferred to the Labour Corps '222090' on 31/07/1917 and posted home on 23/10/1918.  Granville was disembodied on 18/02/1919 and claimed no disability pension.
Granville died and was buried at Royton Cemetery on 01/05/1920, aged 28, 4342/145. The son of Elizabeth Hannah Hatherill of 157 Rochdale Road, Royton.

Granville died of kidney failiure (Chronic Nephritis & Uremia)  on the 26th  April 1920 at his home 157 Rochdale Rd, Royton with his wife present and was buried in the family grave on the 1st May 1920 in Royton Cemetery, 10, 4342. His wife was pregnant with his son Granville at the time.

The service record only refers to Myalgia (Muscle Pain) in the medical reports and Granville was disembodied Class A1 fitness.  Hence, no firm evidence that the cause of death was related to service. Anecdotally, nephritis was most likely contracted overseas and muscle pain may be a symptom.  There's noting factual to support this theory.
