Pte Albert Mills Wild 304179 – 8th Bn
Albert Wild had been a cotton spinner when he attested under the Derby Scheme on 11/12/1918 and a grocer when he was called up for service with 8th (Reserve) Bn on 10/08/1917.  Albert was transferred to the RE as a Pioneer ‘WR 42963’ at ROD Longmoor Camp on 02/03/1918.  He was discharged unfit on 15/11/1918. He received a pension for gastritis (agg) and rheumatism due to service.
Albert died (unknown date and cause), aged 43 and was buried in Royton Cemetery NC.174/5208 on 23/06/1919. The husband of Mary Wild of 66 George Leigh Street, Ancoats.
