Hi,
I am researching my Great Grandfather 202376 Serjeant William Alfred Bower. I have just finished getting his grave sorted with the fantastic people of the CWGC, where he now has a fitting headstone.
He served in the Manchester regiment 1884-1891 and then again 1914-18, where he was medically discharged, receiving a Silver War Badge(which I have yet to find) number B54097. I cannot find any medal entitlement for WW1 despite him serving in that period. If anybody can tell me whether he would have been entitled to any medals,it would be greatly appreciated.
I am also struggling as to what the correct cap badge and collar dogs were for that period? Fleur de Lys. Brass? Silver? which collar dogs, there ar ea few different Egypt" sphinx badges out there.
