21st L.R.V.C. Bugle Image

On March 1st 1860 - The 21st Lancashire Rifle Volunteer Corps were presented a silver bugle.

The Bugle bore the following inscription:
"Presented to the 21st Division of the Lancashire Rifle Volunteers by Elizabeth, wife of Captain Commandant, Nathaniel Eckersley - Wigan March 1st 1860".

Is there an image of the bugle in the Manchester Regimental Archive, and who do I contact regarding obtaining a copy and discussing reproduction rights?

Hi Ginge,
I don't know if there is an image of the bugle in the image archives.  The indexing is a bit cumbersome but the serach function is pretty good. Try "Bugle" and see if it pops up.  The Thameside Archives at Ashton would be the people to ask about copyright but you can also pay for images on the archive site.

Thanks for the advice. I've checked the images but no 21st LVRC Bugle. I may find an image of it on my research travels. It's the same with George Derbyshire's statement that Nathaniel Eckersley purchsed 60 uniforms (fill) for the 21st from his own personal account. I cannot find a account to confirm it. The closest I've come is that N.E. brought a sample of what the uniform looked like in December 1859. I'm also not 100% sure that this was a 'jobs for the boys' network. Haigh (26th LRVC) had its uniforms made by Snelson. Snelson was a 21st LRVC Volunteer. However, I digress. Again thanks for the help.
