Good afternoon,
Malayan Veterans
I have been asked to help in the tracing of families of the the 2 men above..
The Group of Ex-Servicemen who include 1 King's veterans run their club at the Magdellan Centre at Salford are trying to trace any families of these two men both of which appear on their memorial plaque, they haven't disclosed why, I assume it is for a future memorial service this year, it sounded urgent so I think it might be quite soon.

I know, from forum postings of the fate of Edward McGibbon and something of Thomas Traynor but not of their familes so was wondering if there is a contact I can reach out to, the MVA local man seems to have passed away (RIP), McGibbon and Traynor are both on our memorial plaque at the Cathedral and all hose lost were remembered in our service of 15th June.

NEWS
We lost  Old Harry Lowe (March '21) and Tom Boardman (March '22) but Peter Ashworth is well and still attending by Wheelchair the ToL service at the Cathedral and, the 'Turning of the Leaves' continues with those lost from the team being covered by new men from the 1 King's from the Manchester area and the few remaining Manchester Regiment left.

Any help would be appreciated,
Graham Braithwaite

Graham, can you let your contact know that the spelling of William Bailey on his gravestone is "BAILLIE".
I have photographs of all the gravestones of the men named on the Elizabet Cross post except 2nd Lt Max Woodhead Raingill who is named on a memorial plaque in Terendak Military Cemetery Malacca.

Good evening chaps,
This is more about tracing the fmilies of the two men really, I think that a service by the remnants of some local Malaya veterans or perhaps about a memorial plaque at the centre where they meet rather than tracing families for the medal, but I will check.

Thanks for all the info., its great to know you lads(?) are still about, especially arty hughes.

Once again, Thanks
