I am researching my father Edward Moran 352830
Dad was with the Manchester's from 1936 to 1940 when he transferred to the RAPC whilst stationed in Singapore. I know dad attended a regimental reunion in the late 90's and went on a trip with comrades to Singapore and Mayalya around the same time.
Dad wrote about his exploits escaping from Singapore with around three quarters of a million pounds for the Pay Corps historian and magazine, but having now got Dad's service history we can see that his service was considerable before that.
He joined  Jan 36, posted to the 2nd Battn. in Strensall, Yorks, then transferred to 1st Battn. D Compay in Ismallia, Egypt, in Jan 37, was there for 13 months, before 9 months in Palestine, where he was appointed D Company Clerk, then on to Singapore in 1938.  He was stationed at Tanglin barracks until his transfer to HQ at Fort Canning with the RAPC
I am interested in the time he spent with the Manchester's before his transfer.
I have a pdf file which contains his written stories and associated historical facts and context that I have collected to date but it's too large to post here.  I will happily email it to anyone who is interested

What a coincidence, my father 3525679 Arthur Phillips also served with the 1st Bn in Egypt, Palestine and became a POW in Singapore. He stayed with the Bn and after serving with them in Germany he also transferred to the RAPC, he was then attached back to the 1st Bn Manchester's and served with them in Malaya as their pay Sgt.
