Oh I would love to do that! and I definitely will! .... but that will have to wait for the next time I go to the UK.
There are a few scanned images on the Australian Joint Copying project, but only for the time period relating to the colonisation of the Swan River, so circa 1829. Pte Richard Jones appears on those musters, which indicates that he was put on a chilled pension instead of being sent to the colony.
I couldn't find any earlier records on Ancestry during the last free access period (but I haven't checked FindMyPast or Fold3 yet. Waiting for free access, maybe in November)
