Pte 400080 Wilfred Collinge – 1/6th Bn

Tim Bell

Wilfred Collinge enlisted on 18/01/1916 and served overseas with 1/6th Bn. Wilfred was treated for gout at 2nd Gen Hosp for 4 days in June 1917. He was discharged with SWB and pension on 04/03/1918 and lived at 10 Earl Street, Swinton. Wilfred died on 11/08/1920, aged 36. Registered in Bury. Effects to siblings, Lucy, John and Ernest with other family members. Possible previous service with 5th & 6th Lancs Fusils.  This may also be Pte 12042 in the roll of 12 Pln of 19th Bn and the same man in the roll of honour of Herbert Whitfield Limited.
