Pte 4130 Sydney Walter Morbey – 12th Bn

Sydney Morbey had been a carter when he enlisted at the Depot on 26/08/1914.  He was posted to 12th Bn on 15/09/1914 and discharged inefficient on 20/10/1914. Sydney re-enlisted-24/06/1916 'R/359289' in the ASC and served at home.  He was discharged in 31/08/1917 with a pension for VDH aggravated by service and 30% disability.
Sydney died from aortic regurgitation on 30/03/1921, aged 39. The husband of Emma Ann Morbey of 64 Potts Street, Ancoats. Five children. The son of Thomas and Ellen Morbey. He is buried in Phillips Park, consecrated plot I.139. Sydney had previously worked as a labourer for the LNWR, born 16/02/1882.

The DC confirms aortic regurgitation as cause of death, which should be seen as VDH aggravated by service.
Sydney died at his home as reported by his widow.
