Hi Mack

thanks for the info.  I suppose He could have landed in Egypt 25 Sept 1915; was injured ; left Mudros 24 August 1915 and landed at Devonport 3 September; disembarked; was in hospital or being treated somewhere (inadvertently signed for pay on 10 Sept as on the ship); was paid maybe again in Devonport on 6 October; then somehow transferred to Malta as he was there 28 November 1915.

The other option is that 25 Sept 1915 is an error and he only went to Malta on or about 6 October.   But that doesnt account for him being wounded and in a hospital in Malta in December.
I can see that I will end up putting 2 possibilities in his story.

Hi
I have just been reading the handwritten War Diary for the 8th Battalion Manchester Regiment on and around 25 September 1915.   I cant see any mention a new influx of soldiers.    Heck !
