Pte Frederick Clarke 13306, 13th Bn. Manchester Regiment, later 121215 Labour Corps. Born 1887, he disembarked in France on 05/09/1915 and medical records on FMP show that he was hospitalised with debility (1916) and malaria (1917). Discharged on 11/12/1918 with debility attributable to service, he apparently died from debility on either 12/11/1920 or 13/11/1920. Address was 60 Margaret Street, West Gorton. According to the 1911 Census he was a paviours labourer, married for 17 years and with three children. His wife Elizabeth died in 1919. Pension was claimed by their invalid daughter Mary Edith Clarke, but was rejected. A note on the pension card reads: "S.G.C. have decided that the case is not one in which an award can be made. 4/8/21".

Buried at Gorton Cemetery CE V/276. Photo of headstone: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/136336068/frederick-clarke
