Pte 11040 William Joseph Anderson – 18th Bn

Tim Bell

William Anderson had been a cementer when enlisted in 18th Bn 18/01/1915.  He trained with 18 Pln of E Coy and was posted to 25th Bn on 09/11/1915.  He had a fractured thigh following a car accident in Grantham.
William was discharged unfit with a SWB from 25th Bn on 13/07/1916.  William died from lobar pneumonia and cerebral meningitis coma on 24/03/1918.  A pension was refused as the disease was contracted after discharge.
Husband of Nellie Anderson of 345 Mill Street, Bradford. 5 children.
