Pte 1759 Samuel Halkyard - 1/9th Bn

Samuel Halkyard had been a labourer with Garman Uxbridge Ltd when he enlisted in 1/9th Bn at Ashton U Lyne on 14 February 1914. He Embodied for overseas service on 05/08/1914 and embarked for Egypt on 10/09/1914. TB 22/09/1915. After serving in Gallipoli from 09/05/1915, Samuel was evacuated home via Mudros on HS Stonus on 09/09/1915.
Samuel was discharged unfit from 1/9th Bn at Ashton on 30/11/1915, aged 19y 9m.  He received a pension for Pulmonary TB aggravated by service.  This had originated in April 1914.
Samuel died on 05/07/1918, aged 22.
Brother of Alice Artingstall and Emily Halkyard of 34 Union Street, Ashton. A second sister, Emily, received the Dependent's Pension at the same address.  The two siblings had lived with Alice and her husband in 1911.

Samuel died from TB at his sister Alice's home at 24 Earnshaw Street, Waterloo, Liverpool, Ashton U Lyne. Army Pensioner.

We need to identify his burial.

24 earnshaw st,waterloo is in ashton not liverpool,the halkyards never moved from ashton,i can find all his brothers and sisters in dukinfield cemetery except samuel,his brother james formerly pte 1322 9th manchesters,is buried with his wife,his brother in law arthur artingstall,formerly sgt 1598 9th manchesters,is buried with his wife and samuels married sister mary and her husband arthur haughton in the same grave and his other married sister emily hawke is buried with her husband,i think samuel is buried in this cemetery,and his name may have been overlooked when they transcribed the burial registers.

I'll ask our friends at Ashton archives to see if they have access to the original burial registers.
