Harry Snape was employed as a teacher with Manchester Education Committee when he enlisted in 6th Bn on 03/03/1913.   Harry embodied for overseas service (72 days) but solely served at home.  He was discharged on 19/12/1914.  Harry had Mitral (Heart) disease originating in service, September 1914, at Littleborough, not the result of active service the WFA card states aggravated by active service.  The Medical Report didn't mention aggravation.
Harry died from Mitral Stenosis an Embolic infilling of lungs on 26/02/1918, aged 27. He is buried in Southern Cemetery, Consecrated plot S.522.
The son of Benjamin Snape of 3 Leek Street, Collyhurst.  Husband of Annie Louise Snape of 448 Collyhurst Road.
IFCP think the case for aggravation is not adequately supported by the pension record. The Medical report indicates similar symptoms started 3 years prior, so not clear that the condition commenced in service. Hold*
