Pte 564 / 300028 Joseph Wilson – 8th Bn

Joseph Wilson enlisted in 8th Bn on 02/06/1918.  He had been a coal mine hewer in 1911, Joseph embodied for overseas service and embarked for Egypt on 10/091914.  Posted somewhere illegible from 19/10/1914 -17/01/1915, Joseph returned to Egypt on 28/01/1915 and appears to have landed at Gallipoli until he arrived back in England on 11//11/1915.
Joseph was discharged unfit on 14/09/1917.  He received a pension for Vanities Sciatica originating at Gallipoli in Sept 1915 and resulting from service.
Joseph died from pneumonia on 03/07/1918, aged 49.  His widow, Francis Alice and five of 10 children lived at 31 Cross Street, Bradford.  He is buried in Phillips Park Consecrated A.636
