Pte 351310 William Crabtree

Tim Bell

Pte Crabtree was discharged on 18/4/1917 cause n/k. No apparent overseas service or SWB. He died from Flu & Lobar Pneumonia on 5/7/1918.
Parents Mary Ann & Abraham, 77 Burlington St, Ashton. Pension & £11 War Gratuity.
A Wm Crabtree was buried Halifax it 5 pg 196 on 19/7/1918, aged 35.

invalided home from abbasia hospital oct 1915,admitted to Eastleigh hospital and then to the 2nd western gen hospital,manchester 13-11-16 till 28-3-17,suffering with DAH,aggravated by service,diagnosed with mitral stenosis.
discharged 18-4-17

theres no record of willie or his parents burial in the main cemeteries in Tameside,so its possible they are buried in one of the churchyards

The WFA cards show William Crabtree died from infulenza and lobar pneumonia. This does not seem to be a result of his service.
