A. Levy, Number 302783, 2/8th Bn

I'm returning after a number of years to trying to unravel my great-great uncle's military history.  His birth name was Abraham Isaac Levy (DOB 02 November 1893 in Prestwich) and his father recorded that Abraham was serving in the 7th Battalion (Territorials), Manchester Regiment as of February 1916.  I'm pretty convinced now based on the 1939 Register that he was known in public as Frank Levy, and he is most probably the Frank Levy listed  in the 1/7 Battalion with service numbers 3709 and 276200.  However, just to clear up any ambiguity, I want to make sure that I'm not confusing him with A. Levy, Number 302783, 2/8th Bn.

A. Levy, Number 302783, is listed as wounded on the Casualty List for 12 November 1917.  He is also listed in the British Jewry Book of Honour.  But I can't find a first name or any other details for him - he's not listed on the Medal Index Cards or the Silver War Badge lists, nor on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.  Would anyone have any more information on this man ?

Hey Compass,
3709 / 276200 F Rose gained a SWB, enlisting 02/05/1915 (not 1916) and discharged aged 24 25/04/1918.  Stat for overseas with 1/7th Bttn 13/12/1915.  The DoB / age certainly supports your theory this is Abe Isaac.
Have a look at 4810 Abram Levy. Attested 7th Bttn 12/12/1915 aged 21y 2m, mobilised 28/01/1916 and transferred to 31st Middx 71553.  Transferred to Reserve 27/05/1919. 38 Exchange St, Cheetham.  FMP has the service record. Father David seems not to be your man but strong coincidence with dates.
