WW1 Grandfather Military History

Hello

  I'm trying to trace My Grandfathers Military History in the Manchester Regiment, possibly the 5th- his details are John William Shambley Born approx 1892 - Lived at 135 Chestnut Road, Wigan, Whelley, Died 1963 Sept 06 - Miner I have a vague Memory of Him, possible injured remember Aunties mentioning Winick Hospital with Head injury. Any Help or advice to confirm his Service Number / Regiment great appreciated.

Royal Warwickshire Regiment - Private 202394
Lancashire Fusiliers - 238105

Enlisted into 5th Battalion (Territorial Force) at Wigan 22/5/13, aged 21

Embodied 5/8/14 (Private 1627)
Home service 5/8/14 to 9/9/14
Overseas 10/9/14 to 2/4/15

Theatre of War served: Egypt (from 25/9/14)
Discharged medically unfit 17/5/15

Later he served with the 2nd/5th Royal Warwickshire Regiment as Private 202394, and 1st/5th Lancashire Fusiliers as Private 238105 (no details found). He must have re-enlisted or been called up later in the war

john,william shambley went to egypt with the 1/5th manchesters on 9-9-14,he was invalided home on 2-4-1915,he was later discharged on 15-5-15 as medically unfit
he appeared in a wounded list 0n 18-11-16

Hello Guys Thank you very much for your information, I congratulate you all, I'll always remember my Grandfather around mid 1950 / 60's spitting into the fire & the reaction of the flames bursting into life from the coal dust ! I belive he might have spent some time in Winick Hospital.
