Thankyou for the join, I have an interest in possibly finding details of my father George Wood who did his national service with the Regiment during which time he was stationed in Berlin. Hopefully will have some photos to add. The Berlin period would have been around 1954...

Welcome Anthony,I was with the battalion in Berlin 1954 and remember a George Wood who was in the QM's department HQ Company,I was in Support Company.The name is Roy Hughes I was a sergeant then and a member of the battalion boxing team, my nick name was Yozzer.

Roy my father has passed so unable to get more info. He did say he was some sort of company clerk. I think his best mate was Jock from Paisley... he use to tell a tale off a bar fight that was reported in the local German press.
