Looking for war records of the above, was in Cheshires in WW1. No 23122. Then after the war  joined  2nd manchester, he died 24.7.1920 in Hillah, mesapotamia.  No 89041.  3513743. Have copies of effects and medals to his wife Ellen Aspinall  of upholland.
Looking for records in the war, enlistment etc.

he was in the 16th cheshire regt[bantams]attatched to the royal west kents,he was then posted to the 2nd cheshires,his enlistment date would have been around may 1915
when he was killed,he lived at 46 school lane,upholland,wigan

the people who have compiled the names on their upholland war memorial site,have not been able to positively ID the w.aspinall on the memorial,the commonwealth war graves gave them 3513285 william aspinall as the only soldier from the wigan area that they had,this man is the one on the wigan memorial,your william is the one on the upholland memorial.

The other william 3513285, was a seventeen year old from top lock.aspull. Wigan, and is on the Wigan cenataph.   My william 3513743(89041)was from upholland. He married in Jan 1920 ellen whalley.l, they lived school Lane.upholland.  maybe when he enlisted in WW1 his address was haslingden, where he was born. He lived with his sister,at 35 school lane. He was illigitimate and mother deceased.. both williams died same day same area, along with hundred of others. I have the details if his war medals and effects to his widow at 46 school lane.

Pte 89041 Wm Aspinall has a Dependents Pension Card.  He was posted Missing on 24/07/1920. Ellen isn't mentioned by name - just Mrs. She lived at 35 School Lane, Upholland.  Born 16/09/1897.

The medals were stolen from a robbery from his great granddaughters house a,few years ago. Victory medal and one that looked like a large coin with his name on!!!!no  words!!!!!!😭😭😭

Just to say this is for a,friend,not my relative. Mine  Edwin Richards,was killed in October 1918 in France and is buried there.have got his records. Lancashire regiment.

The Pension Cards are accessed on Fold3 via Ancestry or WFA.  The two cards for Wm don't add anything from what you have on this thread.
Most service records were lost in the Blitz. Some post 1918 records are still held by MoD but I can't see your Wm Aspinall.  Interestingly the other 3513285 W Aspinall's record is still held by the Govt. Born 21/04/1898

I thought the other william from Wigan was only 17 when killed making his dob 1903. My william was born 1898( 3513743)
