There are just two Manchesters buried in Hancourt British Cemetery.   Both served in the 2/6th battalion and both died of wounds.   They are: -

                            252100 Pte A. Brandreth   Died 1st April 1918   &  252349 Pte G.W.Bailey  Died 25th March 1918

Continuing my reading of Wilfred Owen's letters home, I see that he makes two observations concerning Colonel Robertson.   On the first occasion he writes that Robertson is "an agreeable non-ferocious gentleman", and later that he is "a mild, honourable gentleman, who lets us alone to do our work."               PhilipG.
