Hello

I'm researching my Grandfather Samuel Howard Cadman b 1896 in Shropshire he was in the 2nd Manchesters - Reg No 40115 he was moved over to Lincolnshire where he met my Granny & married in 1918 in Cleethorpes. I was told by a distant relative he lost an arm during the war, this has been confirmed from some of his records. I can't seem to find any info on the 2nds being in Lincolnshire

Thankyou

he was originally in the 21st manchesters, its likely he was with the 3rd reserve battalion at cleethorpes while recovering from sickness or wounds recieved while with the 2nd manchesters

on 23-6-1917,it was reported in the wellington journal that he had been wounded

Hello Mack

A little more info for me , Samuel H has become more than just a name over the years, I appreciate it. Is the Wellington Journal accessible online ?

He was a husband, father & widower within 10 months in 1918. my dad knew his name but very little else about him, I've even managed to get a picture of him !

Thankyou Mack
