Interesting programme broadcast on Sat 11 December - "48 Hours to Victory" - which describes last days of the Somme and the Battle of the Ancre. The focus is on a Glasgow Volunteer battalion and the 2 Manchesters and - as the title suggests - follows the units through the last two days of the battle (17/18 November). Would be interested in views on the programme (not least because my GF - Chris Gorman and his step brother John Oldham (O'Brien) served in the 2 Manchesters).

If you didn't see it you can still watch via the "All 4" website or app.
Pte John Gorman, 9320, 2 Bn. Manchester Regt, DoW, 26.08.14
Pte Christopher Gorman, 2408, 2 Bn. Manchester Regt
WO II Thomas Gorman MM, 13649, LXXVI Bde, RFA
Pte John Oldham, 2710, 2 Bn. Manchester Regt, DoW, 18.05.15
Pte Frank Meredith, 4773, 2 Bn. Border Regt, KIA, 16.05.15
