Pte Birchall had been a Carter when he enlisted in the 2nd City (17th) Bttn on 3/9/1914.  His number sequence indicates he trained in VII Pn of B Coy. 5 Daly St, Lower Broughton.
Discharged unfit from 2nd City Bttn on 14/10/1914
Michael died from disease n/k on 21/9/1915, aged 28.  The disease was contracted after discharge.
Widow Margaret received no pension at 57 Maverson St, Ardwick. Possible son, Michael. 
Remembered here and no longer missing from my 17th Bttn roll.
