Pte 30743 James McCormick
Pte McCormick had been a Clerk when he enlisted in the Depot Bttn of 19/KLR, 29743, at Knowsley Park on 1/6/1915. He was transferred to the Manchesters on 5/10/1915 and posted to the 2nd Garrison Bttn on 8/1/1916.
Discharged unfit with SWB on 12/5/1916, James had TB of the lung noted as reason for discharge, and Bronchitis is also mentioned. He had been serving in 2nd GB at Prescot and a Disability Pension was refused in 1916 for Emphysema, as unattributed to service.  Asthma had been aggravated. Aged 21y 11m.
James died from VDH contracted and aggravated by active service on 4/1/1918, aged 23. Buried 9/1/1918 at Liverpool (Kirkdale) Cemetery,  WF 6/24. No Headstone.
Widow Ada and daughter Mary received a pension at 8 Seville St, Everton, Liverpool.
IFCP advise we hold these contradictory cases at this stage and Pension Records take precedence over the cards.
