Pte 267 Daniel Hicks
Pte Hicks was serving in the 6th VB (enlisted 12/6/1903) when he enlisted in 10th Bttn on 9/4/1908. He received the TEF on 1/1/1909 and  was employed as a Stoker with Platt Bros & Co. Daniel embodied on 5/8/1914 and embarked for Egypt with 1/10th Bttn on 10/9/1914, returning Home on 3/4/1915.
Discharged with SWB for sickness on 20/5/1915.
Daniel died from Phthisis commencing on active service on 24/5/1917, aged 48.  There is no indication this was attributable to service – even though it obviously was.

Daniel Hicks died TB commencing on active service.  Case submitted but we can't show this was during the period of the Great War
