Please can someone seek the Death Registration for James Taylor?  It proves elusive to me...
Pension records show 100% incapacity due to TB that was aggravated. Continuing after discharge.

Was going to suggest the James Taylor who died at west Derby age 38 since he was the closest fit, but he appears to have been buried at Toxteth Park in December 1917.

There's a James Bede(?) Taylor who died at Dublin, October 1917, age 37, but I don't think he's your man either. (Roman Catholic Clergyman on DC)

Possible match on ScotlandsPeople: James Taylor, age 37, service returns.

If he was being treated in a sanatorium he wouldn't necessarily have died in Manchester. Also the possibility of him using an alias, or lying about his age, or maybe even the date on the pension card being wrong. Maybe worth asking on GWF, it would at least get a few more eyes on it.

A 50 year old James Taylor died of Pul TB as Crumpsall Workhosue Infirmary on 29/10/1917.  Former Groom of 84 Back Street, Ardwick.  A Whitcomen, step sister, was informant. Burial at Agecroft Cemetery CofE 304/25
He must have lied about his age in order to serve in 1914.

Submitted to IFCP.
