William was reported dangerously ill in the gen hospital at etretat on 9-2-16,he was invalided home and admitted to reading war hospital on 1-3-16,with suspected appendicitis,a operation discovered a malignant bowel tumour,he discharged himself from hospital on 23-6-16
No Pension Card with cause of discharge or death.

The Bowel Cancer is stated as orginating at Etretat in Jan 1916 and hence commencing in service. Also accepted as Due to or Aggravated by service.

William Farrell's burial at Greenacres was adopted on 24/06/2022.  "The Commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave."
