Pte Atkinson (B 14/8/1877) had been a Fishmonger when he enlisted in 4th Bttn on 14/1/1915, aged 37y 5m.
Joseph was discharged unfit with TB of Lung on 8/10/1915. The TB had originated at Killingholme. The Pension Board stated the condition was not attributable to service.
Joseph died in the Infirmary of Crumpsall Workhouse, from TB commencing on active service on 13/6/1917. Aged 41.  Prestwich 8d/396 Q2 1917.
Widow Mary with 3 children (B 1901-13, 5 Lewis St, Ludgate Hill, Newton Heath. Later 5 Dewhurst St, Rochdale Rd & 18 Baptist St, Rochdale Rd. Pension Award.

Joseph Atkinson is a new case for commemoration, where 2 records confirm he had TB commencing on active service.  The service records indicate the TB was not attrib or agg by service, but commencing at Killingholme.  This should now meet the revised criteria.
Checking with IFCP before ordering the DC.
