Pte Toole was a Labourer serving in 4th VB (from 18/1/1907) when he enlisted in the newly formed 7th Bttn on 1/4/1908. He attended all the annual camps up to Caernarvon on May 1914. William joined the EEF on 10/9/1914. He returned Home on 7/2/1915.
William was discharged from 14th Bttn on 17/3/1915.
William died on 9/3/1916, from Pullmonary TB commencing on active service.
Son of Mary Toole deceased.
Widow Annie remarried Mr Atkinson and Daughter Annie (B 1911). 69 Robert St, W Gorton. Pension Awarded. Star Returned.
TB doesn't qualify unless this was attributed or aggravated by service. No evidence of such, but William is commemorated here.

William Toole was refused a Disability Pension, but his widow did receive one.  The card states he died from TB commencing on A/S with no contradiction in the Pension Record.  The absence of a Disability Pension indicates TB may not have commenced on active service.  HOLD*
