Pte Warburton had served 8 yrs with Lancs Fusil from 1893-1901.  He re-enlisted in 1908 and re-engaged for 4 yrs in 1912.
William was discharged from B Coy, 28th Bttn, at Maldon, Essex, on 29/4/1917, aged 48. He had completed more than 22 years service and was time expired. Resident 7 Warburton St, Pendleton. No disability.
William died on 6/6/1921, aged.52 Widow Eliza, 28 Garden St, Gillingham. No pension as disease contracted after discharge. Reg Thanet, Kent.
